The world is a very strange place these days. There's a lot of negative energy, chaos and fear mongering everywhere you look. Social medial and mainstream news outlets are constantly pushing bad news at you and eventually it all builds up and can manifest in many different ways. Some people have anxiety or depression, some have stress that gives them headaches and some people can actually develop physical illnesses due to stress.
We all have these feelings at some point and after the past few years, we all need to develop certain practices that will help relieve some of the stress and negative energy. I have found over the years that grounding and meditation are some of the best techniques for helping to balance your energies. Getting out into nature and literally unplugging from the online world is the healthiest thing that we can do for our mental health.
Most people do not understand or believe that there are multi-dimensional beings on our plane. These beings thrive on certain vibrations and frequencies, and these lower vibrations are created by specific emotions such as fear and sadness. Creating a negative environment by constantly bombarding us with bad news, tragedy and trauma will keep people in a state of chaos, which just feeds into the cycle. Do you ever ask yourself why every time you turn on the television or look at your phone, there is always something bad on the screen? War, crime, political turmoil, it's a constant stream. It's nearly impossible these days to get away from it. I believe that it is all by design for the very reasons that I mentioned above. We know that there are other dimensions in the multiverse. We know that we are not alone here, and we also know that this entire existence is a balance of energies. I strongly believe that other entities feed on these energies and therefore, strive to keep us in a low vibrational state in order to continuously generate them.
I know that can seem a bit intimidating but, in a universe where everything is energy, it does make sense. Ok, that being said, what do you do to protect yourself from energetic drain? There are a few things that should routinely be done to keep your mind in a healthy state. I know it's hard in this crazy world to fit these things in but trust me when I say, it is a necessity in order to balance your spiritual, mental and physical wellbeing. You can do some of these things in a matter of minutes. Every morning, while I'm drinking my coffee and getting ready for work, I light a very small ritual candle (about an inch or 2 long) and repeat a daily affirmation while the candle burns down. It's a really quick 10-minute practice but it puts you into a self care mindset to start your day. Also, at strategic times during the lunar month, I recommend doing more involved meditations or rituals, but the daily affirmations are extremely important and very balancing. You can make your affirmation anything that resonates with your daily goals, or it can be the same every morning, like a mantra just for you. I also like to do new moon rituals and full moon rituals when appropriate or necessary and any time that I feel like I need an energy cleansing, I will meditate with candles and crystals to cleanse and realign my aura. It doesn't have to be a long, drawn out process but you can make it one if the feeling strikes you. I am in the process of learning chakra meditations and healing practices, so I'm really looking forward to incorporating these into my life. I even bought this fantastic little set of chakra crystals that are flat so they rest on the points of the body without falling or rolling. (here's a link just in case you want to check them out --- Chakra Stones Top 7 Chakra Crystals Set --- this is not an affiliate link, just the set that I bought and really love.)
There are so many productive ways to do these small rituals, such as going outside and sitting in the grass repeating your affirmation or a specific incantation. Words have great power so choose them with thought and meaning and repeat them several times. Anything that you do to focus your energy in a positive direction is healthy and necessary. If you live near a natural water source, such as a river or lake, putting your bare feet in the water is an excellent way to ground your energy and reset your aura. Nature is the best place to balance yourself. But if you live in the city or do not live close to water, you can do these grounding practices anywhere, sitting on your couch or in your backyard!
I also highly recommend burning white sage in your space a couple of times a year. I like to do it close to the equinoxes. It makes a good point of reference so that I remember to do it and it's usually pretty nice weather at those times so that I can crack the windows and let out the old, stale or negative air. I go through the entire house and spread the smoke in every room, starting at the back and moving towards the front door. After I'm done I like to play music (those healing tones that you can find on youtube are exceptional for this) to fill the voided space with positive energy and healthy vibrational tones.
UNPLUG. This is the most important point that I can stress to everyone. You have to unplug from social media, internet, computers, television, phones, it is an absolute necessity for your mental and physical well being. We all love our socials, seeing what our friends are up to, interacting and chatting but the digital world literally sucks the energy out of us. We are electromagnetic beings and wi-fi and 5G exist in those same fields. Those wavelengths interact on a cellular level and overexposure can put our bodies into an unbalanced electrical state. You have to take time away from it. Generally on the weekends, I am on my phone or computer very little. Mostly because I'm so busy that I just don't have time for it but also because my weekends are for enjoying my leisure time and I want to make sure that I am present in my life. We get so deep in the habit of a quick facebook check at every spare minute throughout the day that some people do not even realize that they do it just out of habit. You're bored-check facebook. On lunch break-check instagram. In between meetings-check twitter. It's a repetitive thing that has just become routine but we have to make sure that we are carving out time for real life instead of spending it all in a virtual life that isn't real. We have to make sure that we are LIVING our life in the natural world and only resorting to the digital world in our spare time. There has to be balance in all things and I see the virtual world overtaking the natural world more and more and it is a very concerning thing. So make sure that you are carving out plenty of time for real life activities with family and friends, FACE TO FACE with no devices. Get together for meals, interact and enjoy your people.
All of these things will help with balancing your energies and creating a positive space away from negative energies that are being planted into our existence. The less we let ourselves be exposed to these energies, the less we can be affected by them!
