This year, May brings a special treat: two full moons. In many cultures, having a second full moon in a month is called a blue moon—a time thought to boost clarity and completion. Whether you're a moon enthusiast or just feel its gentle pull, this is a moment to appreciate.

🌕 The First Full Moon: Light & Awakening

The first full moon in May is like a gentle yet powerful wake-up call. Full moons are known for shedding light—both literally and metaphorically. Hidden things start to appear. Things that have been building up reach their peak.

Take this time to:

  • Think about what’s come to be

  • Recognize growth (even the subtle kind)

  • Notice what’s ready to change

In herbal practices, this phase is linked with increased potency—a time when plants, like us, are seen as energetically vibrant and expressive.

A simple ritual is enough: Light a candle. Sip some tea. Take a few mindful breaths under the night sky.

🌕 The Second Full Moon: Letting Go & Renewal

The second full moon has a different vibe—deeper, more reflective. If the first moon lights things up, the second encourages letting go.

This is where we ease our hold.

Where we release what doesn’t fit anymore—old habits, leftover stress, outdated stories.

Traditionally, a second full moon is seen as a transition: Wrapping up one energy chapter before starting another.

Think about:

  • Writing down what you’re ready to let go of and then burn the paper as you release the burden.

  • Clearing your space—both physically and energetically

  • Finding stillness instead of seeking more

There’s power not just in what we invite in—but in what we choose to let go of.

Two full moons in one month create a natural flow:

Light → Integration → Letting Go

Instead of rushing through it, let yourself go with this flow. Notice what comes up during the first moon, and what gently asks to be released by the second.

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present.

You don’t need fancy rituals or rare tools to connect with lunar energy. The moon has always been a quiet companion—steady, cyclical, and forgiving.

Step outside. Look up. Feel like you’re part of something ancient.

May’s double full moons aren’t here to overwhelm you—they’re here to remind you:

You’re allowed to grow. You’re allowed to release. You’re allowed to start fresh.
